If you’re a child of the ‘90s, chances are when you think Microsoft, you think of the iconic start-up sound, the pixelated Painter that let you draw anything your heart desired, and the classic sky with green hillside wallpaper. The company has now taken all those (not-so) warm-and-fuzzy memories of its early years and wrapped them up into a new merch line.

Named “Hardwear,” the line consists of shirts, hats, cargo pants, sweaters, sweatpants, and jackets all carrying a heavy retro vibe. If you’ve always known you wanted a Windows XP T-shirt, this collection has the blue sky, green hill wallpaper graphic for you. If you were the MS Paint guru, they’ve got that too.

Microsoft teamed up with Gavin Mathieu, founder and creative director of Supervsn, a Los Angeles-based studio that focuses on creating “thought provoking products, content, and experiences that inspire creativity” to design the line. The company describes the styles as “normcore,” or clothing that is said to be attractive, comfortable, and seen as “normal” by most people, though to say it’s not inspired by certain themes would be inaccurate.

“Every piece is intentional, and there is meaning behind each item in Hardwear,” said Amanda O’Neal, director of multicultural and social communications at Microsoft, in a press release. “This campaign tested our comfortability and challenged us at times, but what pushed us forward was seeing the inclusion of diverse voices throughout the process and the unique perspectives on what drives those who want to improve themselves and the world around them, as well as what can distract people from progressing toward their goals.”

The collection is currently available for purchase and can be found on the Xbox website.
