Help for Hawai'i: Links and Resources to Support the Lahaina Community
The team at Apparelist extends our heartfelt love to those in Maui and the Lahaina community for the extreme loss and devastation they’re going through. We’ve compiled a short list of links and resources for those looking to help. If you know of any initiatives and programs, please share them with us. Reach out to Cassie Green, content director, at cgreen@napco.com.
Support Maui
“We are Positive Apparel and Maui Screen Printing, a Local Maui Business that has been affected by the catastrophic fires in Maui. We need to clothe the 20,000 displaced people who didn’t even have the time to grab anything from their home before fleeing for their lives, especially clothing. We’ve already been on the ground sending food, water, and gasoline, and we’ve donated all of our blank shirts in excess of 1,200 pieces and we are out of shirts. We need your help to provide a clean shirt to those families in need.”
Hawai‘i Community Foundation
“The Maui Strong Fund is providing financial resources that can be deployed quickly, with a focus on rapid response and recovery for the devastating wildfires on Maui. HCF will not be collecting a fee for donations to the Maui Strong Fund; 100% of the funds will be distributed for community needs. If you have questions, contact Donor Services at donorservices@hcf-hawaii.org or (808) 566-5560.”
Nineline Apparel Maui Strong T-Shirt Fundraiser
“This limited-time special will close on Aug. 28 and will start to ship out on Sept. 1. On Aug. 8, wildfires in Maui began to devastate Hawai’i. Impacting countless families, many have lost everything they own and some have even lost loved ones. Profits from the sale of this design will go directly toward recovery and relief efforts for the people caught in this tragedy.”
Maui T-shirt Fundraiser
“[Each] design is part of our Maui Fundraising Campaign to raise money to support the people and communities affected by the wildfires on Maui. Funds collected [will] be split between a general relief fund to focus on rapid response and recovery in Lahaina, Hawai’i Community Foundation (linked above), and several local families we know personally that lost everything in a matter of minutes. From now through August 20, Ohana will donate 50% of the sales of apparel with our Surfboards and + Mountain Ohana designs.”
