When you think of promotional apparel, the last thing that likely comes to mind is a puffer jacket filled with pickles. But for KFC UK, it’s a real thing.

According to a recent article from FoodBeast, the KFC UK Pickle Puffer jacket became a marketing hit. It’s a wearable puffer that actually contains sliced pickles, pickle brine, and a built-in straw so wearers can sip straight from it.

No, we’re not joking.

The drop is tied directly to the fried chicken behemoth’s UK Pickle Mania menu, a limited-time menu featuring four pickle-focused items. It’s available now until April 19, 2026. Think McDonald’s McRib, only tangier.

The craze surrounding the jacket has certainly created quite the conversation on social media. The absurdity is likely what makes it so eye-catching. The KFC UK/Ireland Instagram account even held a Pickle Puffer giveaway. The contest closed for entries as of March 30th, but not before catching the eye of multiple other accounts, who decided to get in on the conversation.

Unfortunately for KFC and pickle-loving fans, the jacket isn’t available for purchase; however, those located in the UK area can still get their hands on the limited-time menu.

As brands seek to get more creative with their marketing, many are dropping equally drippy merch to build hype. Whether it’s associated with limited-time product drops, TV shows (remember the Nike/Stranger Things collab?), releasing merch that is wild, outrageous, and yes, and little cringy is pure marketing genius.

It’s the age of custom apparel, having something that no one else has — and brands are noticing. As decorators work with their clients, even if they aren’t massive global fried food chains, employing a risky approach to creating gear is offering up huge rewards.
