The NFL and G-III Apparel Group announce plans to continue advancing inclusivity in sportswear. Following the launch of the collection’s 2023 debut, the NFL Adaptive Collection is expanding this season, marking the first time adaptive apparel is available for all 32 NFL teams.

Developed in partnership with GAMUT Management, a consulting company working with and for people with disabilities, this collection is designed for fans with mobility disabilities, limb differences, or those who require dressing assistance. The collection was developed and tested in collaboration with disabled fans and models, earning the GAMUT Seal of Approval for authentic, accessible design.

“At the NFL, fans remain top of mind with everything we do,” explains Sean Greene, senior director of licensing at the NFL. “When it comes to our licensed apparel, we aim to serve our diverse fanbase through unique offerings.  We understand certain fans require versatile options, and by designing a specific adaptive collection, we can deepen their fandom and bring them closer to the game.”

Each piece was  engineered with accessible features such as:

  • Magnetic closures on necklines and side seams for easier dressing
  • Adaptive ribbing and openings for those with limb differences
  • Satin varsity jackets with hidden magnetic fastenings that look identical to traditional versions

Now available on NFLShop.com and Fanatics.com, all 32 NFL teams are now represented in the NFL’s G-III Sports collection by leveraging a new print-on-demand capability. “To be better prepared, we wanted to provide the option for made-to-order,” says Greene. “Our licensee, G-III, can now produce individual orders as they are received. This way, there’s no requirement for retailers to pre-order or guess the demand. To have the capability to quickly turn and react to the demand, the NFL will ultimately sell more and always be in stock at the benefit of our fans.”

The expanded assortment offers inclusive, adaptive options at price points ranging from $44.99 for T-shirts, $69.99 to $74.99 for fleece tops, and $139.99 for satin varsity jackets.

Collection highlights include:

  • Team Graphic Satin Full-Snap Varsity Jacket
  • Prime Time Full-Zip Racing Jacket
  • Adaptive Headliner Graphic T-Shirt
  • Adaptive Blocker Fleece Pullover Sweatshirt

Greene notes that, though this line is for the retail market, its made-to-order model and blank designs can and should be carried over into wholesale. “While adaptive product is more specialized in that its blanks need to be manufactured with certain features that you don’t find with non-adaptive blanks, vendors who have the make-to-order capability need to stock blanks on their shelves for when orders come in,” he says. “So the market is still there, the product just gets finished on an individual basis as opposed to in bulk.”
