For the first time — across any of the major professional sports leagues — the National Football League has launched an “adaptive and assisted apparel capsule collection,” according to Sports Business Journal. The launch, for all 32 teams in the league, features clothing made with accessibility in mind. It’s “designed to be more accessible for those who find it difficult to dress or those with sensory sensitivities to certain textures or materials.”

The collection, designed by G-III, includes short-sleeve T-shirts, long-sleeve Ts, crewneck sweatshirts, and hoodies with unique features like:

  • Hidden and wider openings
  • Magnetic closures
  • Bungee cords
  • Extended pullers and magnetic connectors for zipper closures

NFL style

An article from Women’s Wear Daily quotes Carl Banks, president of G-III’s sports division, saying: “G-III is proud to design the first adaptive and assisted apparel fashion collections for NFL fans. These collections make sports apparel more inclusive than ever before and are a natural expansion of the classic sports collection we already produce for the NFL. Our innovative designers were able to create apparel that is super functional and provides new options to empower fans to express themselves, as they confidently support their NFL team of choice.”

Items in the capsule collections range from $44.99 to $64.99 and can be found at nflshop.com.
