CLR Wear Opens First Stage of Startup Funding to Democratize Custom-Fit, On-Demand Fashion
CLR Wear (pronounced “color wear”) is entering the apparel scene with an idea that has the potential to change apparel manufacturing as we know it. Looking to make waves, it recently opened a $500,000 pre-seed funding round in hopes of bringing its on-demand fashion dreams to the market.
“This strategic move accelerates the company’s mission to make custom-fit, on-demand clothing accessible to everyone; by leveraging cutting-edge technology and sustainable practices, CLR Wear is set to shake things up,” the company states in a press release.
The company makes all its garments from sustainable micro modal, using a patent-pending scan-to-order platform to create custom clothing for every size and break sizing barriers. Each garment is built on a template, which is then applied to any person’s measurements — from XXS to 5XL.

“At the heart of CLR Wear’s innovation is a patent-pending algorithm that transforms a simple smartphone scan into precise cut patterns — obliterating deadstock and manual grading,” the company says. “Each order triggers on-demand production in U.S. artisan studios using ultra-soft, birch-sourced micro-modal fabric.”
The zero-inventory model reduces textile waste and lowers overhead costs, enabling CLR Wear to provide affordable apparel to all.
“Our goal is to democratize fashion by making custom-fit clothing accessible to all,” Davy Mellado, CEO of CLR Wear, says. “With this pre-seed round, we will enhance our scan-to-order experience, invest in further development of our sizing algorithm, expand production facilities, and scale our marketing efforts — so that personalized, eco-friendly apparel becomes the norm rather than the exception.”
The company plans to work on its platform and perform R&D, onboard additional U.S. artisan studios, expand micro-factory facilities, and lean into targeted digital campaigns and strategic partnerships with the funding proceeds.
