South Texas Entrepreneurs Debut Clothing Line Nationally for Latinx Heritage Month
When Jefas Jen and Veronica Zeano, a pair of entrepreneurs from South Texas, launched Jen Zeano Designs (JZD) in 2016 with a clothing collection aimed at empowering the Latina community, they may not have imagined that their designs would one day be sold on the shelves of one of the biggest global retailers. But that’s exactly what’s happening.
The duo’s powerful pink T-shirt embellished with the term “Latina Power” began to catch fire quickly after launch, and have been seen on the likes of Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria, America Ferrera, and Zoe Saldana. As the T-shirt gained national popularity, the team knew they had something special. And now, it’s getting even more attention on a bigger scale.
For Latinx Heritage Month, JZD is launching its new collection that will hit the shelves at Target.
According to an article shared by News for San Antonio, the new collection features everything from T-shirts and sweatshirts to hats, jewelry, and stationery. Phrases and designs are centered around the celebration of the “Corazón Latino.”
“This collection was inspired by our journey to find our voices as Latinas in this country,” the two said in a press statement. “For us, the most important part of all of this, is to continue to create pieces that allow our community to feel represented and remind us all of the beauty of our cultura.”
The JZD capsule collection is currently available at more than 1,500 Target stores across the U.S. and online.
