SanMar Enters Definitive Agreement to Acquire BELLA+CANVAS
May 19, 2026
Blank apparel manufacturer BELLA+CANVAS announces its entry into a definitive agreement to be acquired by SanMar Corporation, a wholesale supplier of imprintable apparel, headwear, and accessories for the apparel and promotional products industries.
According to the press release, BELLA+CANVAS will continue to operate as an independent brand, and long-tenured BELLA+CANVAS executive Megan Spire will remain as executive vice president and lead the brand into the next chapter.
Under SanMar’s ownership, BELLA+CANVAS says it can “accelerate with greater focus and scale” and will benefit from SanMar’s “long-term investment, industry expertise, and operational infrastructure while maintaining the creative autonomy and clear point of view that have always defined the brand.”
“My co-founder and I spent nearly three decades building BELLA+CANVAS into a brand that defines the premium category,” Danny Harris, co-founder of BELLA+CANVAS, adds. “As we looked for the right next chapter, it was critical to find an owner that would champion the brand’s DNA and build on what has made it a leader: delivering the highest-quality fashion blanks with manufacturing integrity and an unwavering ethos of being different. SanMar believes deeply in this brand and is uniquely positioned to support its growth through inventory depth, service, and operational excellence. The BELLA+CANVAS legacy lives on, and I can’t wait to see what comes next.”
“It was paramount to my partner and me that BELLA+CANVAS join a privately held, family-owned company rather than private equity,” notes Marco DeGeorge, co-founder of BELLA+CANVAS. “We know SanMar will be exceptional stewards of the brand and of the BELLA+CANVAS team who continues to shape it today.”
“BELLA+CANVAS has always operated with a simple conviction: the people who print, decorate, and sell our products deserve the best blank apparel in the world,” Spire says. “That belief is not changing. With focused ownership and additional investment behind the brand, we will be able to bring more newness, more innovation, and an even stronger commitment to the partners who make BELLA+CANVAS what it is while staying true to who we’ve always been. I have never been more excited to lead this brand.”
“As the fashion leader in the industry, BELLA+CANVAS has earned the trust and respect it holds today,” says Jeremy Lott, president and CEO of SanMar Corporation. “Our commitment is simple: give BELLA+CANVAS the focused ownership and resources it needs to keep doing what it does best and to deliver even more of what the market expects from this exceptional brand.”
Apparel decorators, promotional products professionals, and wholesale buyers can continue to find BELLA+CANVAS sold through authorized wholesale distributors nationwide. The brand’s full product assortment and quality standards will continue without interruption, the press release states.
