US Standard Apparel (USSA), a new name in the wholesale apparel space, hires apparel industry veteran Tim Gibson as its president of sales. Gibson has held various executive positions in the apparel manufacturing industry, including director of field sales at Hanes/Champion, national sales manager at BELLA+CANVAS, and western regional sales manager at Next Level Apparel.

While USSA is entering the wholesale space for the first time, apparel isn’t new territory for the company. USSA’s parent company SAS Textiles has 30-plus years in the industry — knitting for some of the world’s top brands and even some wholesalers.

Gibson says USSA brings something to the table that’s not currently offered in the space: Premium fabrics, eco-friendly manufacturing, and fully custom capabilities — all nearshore.

Being completely vertical, offering knitting, cutting, sewing, and dyeing in its Los Angeles-based facility, the brand is eager to serve the market with on-trend styles, colors, and low MOQ for custom garment dye.

It’s expected to launch a made-in-USA collection for the wholesale market in Q1 of 2025, Gibson tells Apparelist. Its current offerings include 100% ECOCYCLE cotton T-shirts, hoodies, crewnecks, sweatpants, and sweat shorts.
