MADE Lab, along with presenting partner PRINTING United Alliance, introduces WB/WEEK, set to take place this July in Ft. Worth, Texas. This year, the event will comprise of two separate experiences across four days.

The first two days of WB/WEEK will be WB/BASIC, taking place July 19-20. Attendees will gain an understanding of the water-based printing process through a series of presentations and hands-on activities delivered by the MADE team and industry manufacturers, including Avient, Matsui, Green Galaxy, and SAATI. Throughout WB/BASIC, attendees will learn:

  • Stencil making for water-based printing
  • How to work with various types of water-based ink
  • Fundamental water-based printing techniques

“We wanted to build off of the success of the past WB/Camp workshops by splitting off into two separate events,” explains Tom Davenport, co-founder of MADE Lab. “This not only increases capacity for attendees, but more importantly, we are able to tailor the content for each group.

The second part of WB Week is WB/CAMP. This portion is designed for advanced learners, where attendees will expand and deepen their understanding through a series of presentations and hands-on activities delivered by Night Owls and Forward Printing, as well as MADE and industry manufacturers. WB/CAMP is scheduled for July 21-22. Throughout this experience, attendees will learn:

  • Advanced stencil-making for water-based ink printing
  • Water-based ink mixing and color matching
  • Advanced water-based printing techniques and practical considerations for production

While the structure of the event might be different this year, Davenport emphasizes that the theme is the same. “The theme continues from the past events: two action-packed days of learning through hands-on activities, presentations, and community,” he says. “We’re expecting approximately 75 attendees per workshop. Our goal is for every single attendee to leave feeling energized and confident in starting or advancing their water-based printing program, armed with both practical and technical knowledge gained through an unforgettable experience.”
