For many in the decorated apparel community, the opportunity to give back is top of mind. This sentiment is a huge part of the culture at ShirtMax, a provider of wholesale bulk apparel online. The company, which was founded in 2014, recently announced its online T-shirt giveaway program, where it will hand-pick a select group of charitable organizations to support through Dec. 31, 2023.

According to Jordan Adair, co-founder of ShirtMax, the company has worked with charitable organizations in one form or another since the  beginning.

“We want to give back and thought to ourselves, what is the best way to do so?” he says. “Since we are in the T-shirt business, and charities are always needing shirts and other swag for events, giveaways, volunteers, etc., it seemed like a natural fit.”

ShirtMax began its journey in this niche working with local causes in Atlanta. Among the organizations that ShirtMax has worked with are Amy’s Holiday Party in Atlanta, D.C.-based Generation Hope, and Pressley Ridge, a 200-year-old charitable group based in Pittsburgh.

Since then, the work has blossomed into other initiatives, says Adair. This is where this year’s T-shirt giveaway comes in.

The ShirtMax 2023 T-shirt giveaway is the company’s first year hosting a national program. “Since our company has grown, we decided to take it national and will be selecting several worthwhile charities each year for our donations,” Adair explains. “This is the first year we have gone national and have really ‘put the word out’ that we are doing this.”

The program allows nonprofits to use the clothing in any way they see fit, whether for community events, donated to those in need, sold through fundraising campaigns, or used as gifts printed for donors. The giveaway is open to all nonprofits and charitable organizations in the U.S., including church groups, homeless shelters, and youth programs.

Adair notes that they’re already receiving applications every week. “Unfortunately, we can’t donate to everyone,” he states. “Every charity has a great mission, and you want to help everyone. We analyze each application on an individual basis and determine where we could affect the most change.” He adds that ShirtMax team members are also involved in the selection process, which makes it more personal.
