Iconic Denver Restaurant Sponsors Denver's Largest Running Event
Every year in May, Denver’s largest running event takes place — the Denver Colfax Marathon. And every year for the last 16 years, participants have raced past the iconic restaurant Casa Bonita. This year, the restaurant — now owned by South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker — will sponsor the Denver Colfax Marathon. Hint: It involves T-shirts.
Volunteer T-shirts
“Casa Bonita will be sponsoring the race’s volunteers in May,” reports 9NEWS. “The sponsorship means 1,500 race volunteers will be a sea of pink in limited-edition pink Casa Bonita shirts.”
Denver Colfax Marathon CEO Andrea Dowdy tells the news source the partnership is unique, and the organization is “thrilled to have them involved in our race day on a major level.”
Casa Bonita Executive Chef Dana Rodriguez says the restaurant is honored to be a race volunteer sponsor this year and looks forward to supporting the cause.
While the 2023 marathon and 5K shirts have been revealed on social media, the pink Casa Bonita Ts have yet to be seen.

Additionally, for the third year in a row, the marathon will hand out intricate finisher medals to participants, which pay homage to the landscape of the race. The 2023 medals feature notable landmarks like the State Capitol and Denver Fire Station No. 1, which racers run through. The half-marathon medal includes a giraffe to signify the run through Denver Zoo.
The 17th annual race returns Saturday, May 20, and Sunday, May 21, with a marathon, half marathon, Urban 10 miler, 5K, and the largest marathon relay in the U.S.
