S&S Activewear announced expansion plans set to happen later this year with the addition of a new distribution center in West Chester Township, Ohio. The location, which is just outside of Cincinnati, will expand the company’s distribution network, improve service levels, and reduce pressure on other locations in order to better serve the growing customer base in the region, according to a press release from S&S.

The news comes just shy of two months after the company announced its acquisition of TSF Sportswear.

The 200,000-square-foot location will allow S&S to operate more than 4.3 million square feet total of warehouse space across North America. To top that off, the facility will also create additional next-day delivery options for a portion of S&S’s customer base.

Another facility also means jobs for the local community. S&S states that the opening of the new distribution center will provide approximately 175 jobs for the surrounding area.

“This facility is a significant investment in our future and underscores our commitment to providing best-in-class service and product availability to our customers in the Midwest and the Eastern United States,” Frank Myers, president of S&S Activewear, said in a statement. “By creating transportation efficiencies, the West Chester Township facility also allows us to reduce our carbon impact in the region.”

One way S&S is putting in work toward its environmental goals is through solar-generated energy at its facilities as well as emission offsetting initiatives. Both will minimize its carbon footprint, the company reports.

S&S plans to open the warehouse in late Q3, with full shipping operations beginning in early Q4.
