National Distribution Centers, a logistics and transportation company, plans to close its High Point location and lay off 217 workers, according to a report shared by Business North Carolina. The facility is currently occupied by HanesBrands, who signed the lease several years ago. In 2018, the Triad Business Journal reported that Hanes had leased the building to support distribution of its Champion branded products.

The article states the reason for closing the facility was the termination of a customer contract to operate the facility. However, Hanes said it will not close the High Point distribution center, according to WFMY News 2. The expected closing date is De. 31 of this year.

National Distribution Centers said employees were notified of the closing on Oct. 13, with layoffs beginning on Dec. 17.
