Gildan's Environmental Initiatives Spotlighted on Popular TV Show
First it was its own mini documentary series spotlighting internal voices of the company. Now, Gildan is being featured in an episode of popular TV show “Earth with John Holden,” an Emmy Award-winning series that spotlights environmental initiatives and the companies that are making them happen.
According to a press release, Gildan’s segment was shot at Gildan’s manufacturing complex in Rio Nance, Honduras, and highlights discussions with some of the company’s leadership, including Israel David Salinas, senior vice president of global supply chain and product development; Claudia Sandoval, vice president of corporate citizenship; and Carlos Duran, vice president of engineering.
Throughout its segment, viewers get a glimpse of some of Gildan’s environmental technologies such as the biomass, the Biotop, heat recovery system, and absorption chillers, which enable the company to conserve and reuse resources.
The episode first aired on the Fox Business Network on Sept. 25. Future showings include Oct. 2 and 9. The show will also be available on streaming platforms Vimeo, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, and YouTube.
