Today’s apparel decorators face several challenges, including sourcing USA-made garments to managing complex brand fulfillment processes. In response to these challenges, Silverscreen Decoration & Fulfillment introduces itself as a partner for uniform suppliers seeking to streamline and optimize their fulfillment processes.

According to CEO Dan Frank, Silverscreen Decoration & Fulfillment has been years in the making. “I bought the company June 2019 as a shop [with a revenue of] $2 million,” he explains. “I had no experience in decorating, but the company was solid with processes and systems, had been in business since 2003, and had a solid management team.”

Frank saw all of this as the foundation for a great opportunity alongside its physical location in Reno. He felt the business, previously named Silver Screen Printing, could be a “great western hub for decoration with S&S Activewear and SanMar [located] nearby,” as well as a nearby UPS hub. “All of those assumptions proved true,” he says.

Of course, building on the foundation and expanding into new opportunities came with a few challenges. “The challenge with the company post-acquisition was a need for leadership development; investment in equipment to scale; providing additional services like fulfillment, procurement, and value-added services; and more aggressive marketing,” Frank says. And of course, the COVID-19 pandemic didn’t help things.

But post-COVID, Frank notes that business is booming. “Post-2020, we have scaled to over $10 million through being a company that could deliver speed and quality with all decorating disciplines,” he says.

Now under the Silverscreen Decoration & Fulfillment name, Frank states that they focus on supporting western regional mid- to large companies in contract printing in sports, workwear, retailers, and promo companies. “Our proprietary software is going through another round of development to better provide connections with clients and partners to address the ever-growing technology needs and advancements in business today,” he adds.

As far as the future goes, Frank and his team plan to keep pushing. “We see procurement of garments, blank inventory management and picking, digital, fulfillment, and core services like screen print and embroidery to reach $20 million in a few years,” he says. “There is a lot of change in the industry, and we want to be in the mix on all disruptions and advancements.”
