Women in Print Alliance, part of PRINTING United Alliance, announces a series of initiatives designed to honor the contributions of women in the printing industry this March as well as all year long. These programs aim to foster professional growth, facilitate meaningful connections, and advocate for increased diversity and inclusion within the sector. Content highlighting women in the industry is also planned across Alliance media brand channels, including a new podcast dedicated to women who are transforming the industry. Celebrating Women Educating and Inspiring Generations

“This year’s Women’s History Month theme — Women Educating & Inspiring Generations — is especially relevant to women in print,” says Lisbeth Lyons Black, director of Women in Print Alliance. “With four generations of women currently in the workforce, there are tremendous opportunities to learn from, and inspire, one another.

“The theme is also very much on point with the programs and services that Women in Print Alliance offers its members, not just in March, but all year long. From mentorship podcasts to professional development workshops, to community-building events and advocating for expanded educational opportunities, we’re connecting women in print to honor the past while looking optimistically to the future.”

Expanded Membership Programming and Women in Print Benefits

In 2024, Women in Print Alliance launched a formalized paid membership program designed to provide even more enhanced benefits and greater accessibility for women at all stages of their careers.

Memberships are available for individuals and corporations, and each offers unique benefits designed to support members’ professional growth through a mix of virtual and in-person benefits, with programming focused on topics like business expertise, career development, executive leadership, and work-life balance. Additional perks include access to members-only webinars, workshops and book chats, recognition at select industry conferences, and more. Plus, student membership is free.

In 2025, Women in Print Alliance will offer even more ways for women in the industry to connect, including regional meet-ups in select cities, and at the annual Women in Print Luncheon taking place in Orlando, Florida at PRINTING United Expo. This year’s luncheon will be held on October 23, featuring keynote speaker Joan Moon. This month, Women in Print Alliance will launch a comprehensive online Membership Directory to facilitate idea sharing and learning exchanges across generations of women in the industry.

New Podcast Series, Additional Content Highlighting Women in Print

The Alliance Media Brands recently launched a new podcast titled Her Imprint, presented by Women in Print Alliance and hosted by Editorial Director Denise Gustavson, which celebrates the remarkable women who are transforming the printing industry. Throughout the month of March, Her Imprint will release 21 episodes — one regular episode and 20 bonus episodes — honoring some of the women who make up the printing industry. To access the latest podcast episode, visit piworld.com/podcast/her-imprint.

Apparelist will launch the Threads of Change podcast, co-hosted by Kristine Shreve. The podcast will not only highlight and feature many of the amazing women in the apparel decorating community, but it will also spotlight other under-represented groups and how the industry can better support each other. In addition, the Apparel Decoration Summit will feature a panel made up of all women to talk about the State of the Decorated Apparel (SODA) survey.

Packaging Impressions will also be launching a new podcast series titled Parlor Talk. One of Parlor Talks’ newly released episodes will include an interview with Catapult’s recently appointed Chief Client Officer Suzanne Bowden. The interview is part of Packaging Impressions’ celebration of women in the label and package manufacturing industries, which includes multiple conversations with female executives to learn about their unique perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing printed label and package manufacturers.

Wide-format Impressions will also be highlighting women throughout March via weekly published written profiles on women business leaders in the wide format space. Additionally, WFI will be interviewing Lisbeth Lyons Black on Women in Print Alliance and the state of the printing industry as a supportive platform for women to grow and succeed in their careers.

Promo Impressions will be publishing several “Women in Promo” profiles, chatting with women who are impacting the promotional products industry — whether through their passion for the space, innovation, or leadership.
