Editor’s Hot Take: We’re seeing more and more apparel decorators exploring printing opportunities beyond garments. One profit opportunity many already offer or are considering is the world of wide-format printing.

In the “State of the Decorated Apparel Industry Report, Summer 2025,” we asked participants if they’ve diversified beyond apparel. Among the 65.7% that reported diversifying their businesses, 52.3% have moved into the graphic and sign space, and 22.7% have moved into commercial printing.

What that tells us is that partnerships such as the below announcement from Brand Management Group and Berger Textiles will impact and influence the apparel decoration industry, if not now, certainly going forward.

Brand Management Group (BMG), a global brand licensing company and subsidiary of S-One Holdings Corporation, announces a new partnership with Berger Textiles, a name in textile solutions since 1849. BMG has partnered with Berger Textiles as its master distributor for North America. Berger Textiles is part of Spandex Group’s family of companies.

“Our partnership with Berger Textiles expands our offerings in North America and strengthens our commitment to elevate the business opportunities for print providers,” stated Patrick Callaway, vice president, BMG Sales, in a press release. “Resellers and end-users who were previously buying product directly from Berger Textiles will experience a seamless transition backed by our personal service and technical expertise when they buy from BMG.”

“This collaboration brings value to the entire market — empowering current resellers with a proven, globally respected textile brand, and enabling end-users to access a wider range of high-performance solutions designed to meet their needs,” said Andrew Coulsen, CEO, Spandex Group.

Through this agreement, BMG will:

  • Provide customers with access to Berger Textiles’ full line of textile products.
  • Strengthen opportunities for printing businesses to grow in soft signage, décor, and display applications.
  • Offer reliable distribution and support through its North American network.

BMG’s offering of Berger Textiles means customers will have access to a comprehensive textile portfolio, spanning super-wide applications:

  • Backlit lightboxes
  • Blockout background exhibitions
  • Display banners
  • Flags
  • Banner tents
  • Branded carpets
  • Curtains, bedspreads, towels
  • T-shirts, tops, dresses, skirts
  • Sports and active wear
  • Acoustic frames and ceilings
  • Display frame systems and interior banners
