M&R Printing Equipment Inc. announces the release of the POLARIS S4 pretreat unit, powered by Xaar’s inkjet technology, as an integral component of the POLARIS S4 industrial DTG platform.

The POLARIS S4 industrial DTG platform is designed to handle an array of automation needs and quality requirements, according to a press release from M&R. The S4 pretreat unit digitally delivers pretreat chemistry exactly where it is needed behind each print. Not only is the pretreat digitally targeted as “Shape for Shape” area application, but the density and amount of pretreat can be controlled garment-to-garment via integrated workflow software. This allows for a wider range of fabric types, construction, and colors to be explored without fear of “boxing” or UV staining associated with other pretreat solutions, the company reports.

The S4 digital pretreat unit is a collaboration project between M&R and Xaar, developed and engineered with Xaar’s aqueous inkjet technology. The full POLARIS S4 industrial DTG platform debuted at PRINTING United Expo in Las Vegas, on Sept. 10th – 12th, 2024.
