Toledo, Ohio-based screen printing and embroidery shop Jūpmode expands its apparel offerings by acquiring PromoTreds, a custom slipper sock business. Founded by Ohio-based manufacturer Principle Business Enterprises Inc. (PBE), PromoTreds came to be in 2004 after PBE found success after its special foam slipper became the first fall-prevention strategy used by hospitals in the 1960s.

Today, PromoTreds offers custom, logoed, and branded socks to various customers, including corporate entities, schools, fundraisers, and more. Looking to refocus its efforts on its core business of offering healthcare products, PBE began the search for a partner to take over and grow the PromoTreds brand. PBE found that Jūpmode shared its passion for building Northwest Ohio businesses and delivering on quality and customer service.

The Right Fit

“Finding a local partner who shares our dedication to quality and customer service was paramount,” said Andy Stocking, CEO and president of PBE, in a press release. “Jūpmode is that partner, and we are confident they will elevate the PromoTreds brand with their expertise and passion.”

Having a knack for creating impactful custom goods for businesses, nonprofits, and events, the custom sock business makes sense for Jūpmode. John Amato, owner of Jūpmode, sees the acquisition as a natural next step as it expands its offerings.

“PromoTreds was a natural fit for us,” Amato shared. “Incorporating these socks into our production aligns smoothly with our screen-printing expertise. We’re honored that PBE would trust us to carry on their legacy of service to their customers, and we’re excited that we can keep this business in Northwest Ohio.”

This partnership highlights the collaborative spirit of the two family-owned companies and their unwavering commitment to Northwest Ohio, its residents, and businesses.  Jūpmode’s love for Northwest Ohio and the Midwest is not only evident in the “Ohioan” shirts and Midwest mugs it sells but also in its philanthropic efforts. In its fifth consecutive year, the print shop is hosting its Here for Good campaign to help raise money for local small businesses. The campaign has grown over the years, first launching during shutdowns caused by COVID-19 and growing into a yearly initiative that Amato continues to remain passionate about.
