Kodak Apparel Launches Flagship Store in South Korea
Most people associate Kodak with cameras, film, and all things photography. But as the years have gone on and many companies have been forced to expand and change their focus, Kodak has not been immune to changing technologies either. The company has found itself pushing further and further into the apparel space, starting with its own Kodak apparel line that launched several years ago.
Now the company is taking that to the next level, with the announcement coming from the Korea Joongang Daily that Kodak has opened its flagship store, called “Kodak Corner Shop,” in Seongsu-dong, eastern Seoul, South Korea. The 130-year-old company is incorporating its iconic flare not only into the apparel, but also into the retail space. Shoppers can find vintage-style clothing along with experiencing Kodak’s film photography heritage in the store in separate zones, one designated to making customized goods (the “Custom Goods Zone”) and another to music (the “Kodak Sound Zone”).
According to a report from EconoTimes, Highlight Brands operates the Kodak apparel business locally.
The Korea Joongang Daily reports that the shop’s aesthetics fit Kodak’s retro theme, with its iconic yellow and red featured on both the inside and exterior of the store.
