One of the things that has been brought home to me recently in a big way is the fact that nothing is permanent. We do work, we create, we spend a lot of time and effort on something, and we think that thing will always exist, but that’s not always the case. As humans, I think we want to believe that everything we do will last, that we’ll leave a mark so that when we’re gone people can point to that building or that business or the shirt they’re wearing, or a blog post they just read, and remember us and what we did. If nothing is permanent, the question then becomes, even if we know everything will eventually end, and that things will change, is it worth putting our all into what we’re doing anyway?

I’ve decided the answer to that is yes. Whether it lasts for a moment or a million years, whether everyone knows your name, or no one remembers at all, still put the best of yourself and your talents out into the world every time you get the chance. There’s only one you, and we need your gifts, so share them, please. Share them.
